India is a fast ever growing country with the lot of mobile users, which boosts the revenue of the Telecom services. But some may want to change to other network service provider, but in previous it was not possible.

How to port mobile number

Now it is possible with the Port of Mobile number, yes you can change the network provider without buying an new sim.Let us see the procedure of doing this for all network service providers.


How to Port Mobile number 



1) Type PORT (space) your mobile Number like ( PORT 8885468929 ) and send to the number 1900

2) An Unique code will be sent by the Service provider to you, it is of 8 Digits

3) Clear all the Pending dues, the UPC code is valid only for 24 hours after the code was received

4) Now go your nearest store or Retailer and fill the Application form and submit it

5) Your Photo is needed and the UPC code must submit in the form given for your Port

6) Within a Week, you are switched to an new network

7) About 19/- is taken from you for MNP services



Some points to note


  • During the porting process your number will be dead for two hours, it is between 10PM to 5AM
  • Your mobile balance will not be transfered, so use your balance before porting
  • The Mobile numbers which are older than 90 days are eligible for the Porting 
  • Porting can be between 24 hours and 4 days

    I have ported my number to Tata Docomo, but it is not yet activated, am unable to call not even to customer care, whenever am calling its saying like this facility is not available on your number please help me out
